Liverpool airport drop off charges catch many drivers out. The closest drop-off point costs money, but a free option sits a short walk from the terminal. Here is what you pay at Liverpool John Lennon Airport and how a pre-booked transfer avoids the charge.

Liverpool Airport Drop Off Charges: Express Drop Off Prices

The Express Drop Off sits directly opposite the terminal. It is the closest point, so it charges by time. Here is the current starting price:

Up to 10 minutes: £6 (July 2026)
Longer stays cost more, so check the airport’s latest tariff

You pay as you leave, and you cannot reserve a space. A red route runs along the road, so never stop on the double red lines. Prices can change, so check the airport drop-off page before you travel.

Is There a Free Drop Off at Liverpool Airport?

Yes. Drop Off 2 sits about 400 metres from the terminal, and the airport lists it as free for up to 40 minutes. It suits travellers with light bags. However, you must walk with your luggage, so it works less well with young children or heavy cases.

Blue Badge holders can claim up to 40 minutes of free parking at the Express Drop Off.

What About Manchester Airport?

Manchester Airport also charges for drop-off directly outside its terminals. It offers a free drop-off site with a shuttle to the terminals instead. Charges change often, so check the Manchester Airport website before you go.

How a Pre-Booked Transfer Avoids the Charge

First, you book a fixed-price transfer. Then your driver takes you to the terminal and handles the drop-off. As a result, you pay nothing extra at the kerb. Every fixed-price transfer with us includes all airport parking and drop-off fees.

Your exact fixed price appears on our booking form before you pay. So you always know the cost up front. See our fixed price airport transfers page for each vehicle type.

Compare the Full Cost Before You Decide

Drop-off fees are only part of the bill. You also pay for fuel and the drive home, and a later pick-up can add more parking charges. So it helps to compare the full cost, especially for groups. Overall, a fixed price means you know the total before you travel.
